About Mt. San Antonio College

Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) is a public community college in Walnut, California, founded in 1946 and operating on a 420-acre campus about 25 miles east of Los Angeles. It serves the San Gabriel Valley and eastern Los Angeles County and is one of California's largest single-campus community colleges, enrolling roughly 30,000 undergraduate students. The college is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Career and technical training is concentrated in the Technology and Health Division, which offers associate degrees and credit certificates in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Building Automation, Welding, Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Networking Technology, Architecture and Manufacturing Technology, Engineering and Construction Technology, and Airframe and Aircraft Powerplant Maintenance Technology, with the aircraft maintenance program available in both day and evening tracks. Health and public safety programs include Nursing, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Mental Health Technology, Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Technology. Other divisions offer an AVMA CVTEA-accredited (currently on probationary accreditation) Registered Veterinary Technology associate degree and Culinary Arts degrees and certificates. Mt. SAC also runs a School of Continuing Education with noncredit short-term vocational certificates, including pharmacy technician training. California residents pay a per-unit enrollment fee rather than conventional tuition, and the college participates in federal and state financial aid programs.
