About a month ago, I had my nails done, Her Name Tag said Thea, she seemed very pleasant. So came to a surprise to me how unprofessional she was.  She ignored when I winced when she nicked the sides of my nails.  One of my nails even started bleeding and she just continued.  The end result was acceptable, so when they were checked I paid didn't want to make trouble. I wish I had complained. I got an infection were I was nicked and bleeding and they chipped and cracked just a couple days later.  Which was very painful, I don't want to say a Paul Mithchell is a bad School. Just students I that need a lot more training.

They do quite a good job for being students!

Over the past year, I have tried on 3-4 ocasiones to make a appointment here for various services. Each time I have called multiple times and even texted as they suggest in their voice mail. However, I have never talked to anyone there or been able to make an appointment. Eventually I stopped trying and have gone to the Evans Hair Styling College in Rexburg instead. Idk why the Rexburg Paul Mitchell has such bad customer service but it's probably bad for their students as well because they can't learn without practice.

I agree that the membership they have is a score, but getting a good person is so hard to do. My fiance called and asked for an advanced student because we're getting married in three weeks. They completely butchered his hair and we're just praying that it grows out well enough in time to fix.  Just pay the extra dollar and go to a professional for special events. And if you do go here, make sure you get a referral first rather than letting them decide.

I have found I like to do a little digging when looking for someone to do my hair and like to just ask around and when I do this I always find someone who is literally amazing like Meg Fillmore!! She has dyed my hair twice and has been AMAZING both times!! Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Paul Mitchell for over a year and I’ve never gotten a bad haircut. They are very meticulous and do a great job. The staff is extremely friendly and remembers your name. I highly recommend going there. James is super nice and very clearly knows his stuff.

Unless you want your hair to be butchered do not let a student touch your hair. I was assured that I was getting an advanced student. She had no idea what she was doing. She shaved a bald spot into the side of my head using a 3 with the clippers. How do you even do that? And then tried to pass it off as me having a SCAR on the side of my head like I'm somehow unaware of having a scar. the back is totally uneven which is something I was not aware of until I got home. If you decide to go anyway make sure you check the back of your head with a mirror before leaving and do not pay them for screwing up your hair.

At first I was scared to make an appointment since most of the haircuts are done by school but man was I wrong. Everything about this place it’s so professional. The girl that did my haircut, Annie, was incredible. She was such a professional and polite. Overall an incredible experience

Today I had the best experience at Paul Mitchell! Shout out to Abby H. For doing a great job on my hair and just being chill and easy to talk to. Probably my favorite Paul Mitchell experience so far.

I come here often and it’s kind of hit or miss what kind of experience I have. Honestly though, it’s a hair school so when you come you need to understand you’re taking a risk. That’s why I’m giving it a 5–I think they do a great job considering they’re still learning.

Sometimes I’ve asked for tiny trims and gotten LOTS taken off, or they’ve taken twice the time it takes other students to do a color. I always do overall colors to cover gray hair and straight trims so nothing they could really mess up big time. They do have their instructors checking up on them before and after to make sure they’re doing it right and doing a good job. I guess just realize when you come that they’re good and I do trust them to do basic things well, but it is a hair school and they are still learning.

Great price for haircuts. Takes a while to finish because they are students and they have to get everything checked off by an instructor. They do wash your hair which is awesome.

Love them. $40 for unlimited haircuts every year. Professional, friendly.

This place is super nice. The service in the front desk is very helpful and informative. They are all super nice if you had a misunderstanding and will help you out. I would suggest you go and look for yourself.

Hey, if you put your hours on Google, maybe you should make sure they are accurate or at least some sort of note on the door. Otherwise you look  like jerks during the holidays.

The instructors are new and have no idea what they’re telling the student to do. I came out with RED hair trying to getting some highlights. I had zero highlights and completely red hair. Lighting makes it look better then it was. Just terrible.

This is the only place I got totally ignore in my whole life... I don't know why staff just passed me. I was almost sitting in the front desk but no one cares... I spend 20 min and just a girl showed up and a employee started to attend her in front of me...
I just left afterwards, place look clean and profesional but not best place in rexburg for sure. For your information. This is a school not a proper salon or barbershop ;) your welcome.

I’m currently in the esthetician program and I am IN LOVE!!!!!! I’ve just barley started but I feel like I’ve already been taught so much! The learning leaders and mentors are amazing and so so helpful! The environment is so uplifting and positive, everyone at Paul mitchell is really there to help you succeed!!

The front of office staff are super friendly and go the extra mile to make sure you have an amazing experience. While waiting I overheard a receptionist guiding a customer to the school for an appointment.

The atmosphere is upbeat and the instructors are super helpful teaching these future stylists and barbers! Highly recommend their VIP package as well which is a year of haircuts for $45 as well and then half off other services!

EDIT to reply to the comment: my mom was the one that booked the appointment which is why you don't have my name. She is from out of state. We were legitimate customers, I promise you.

So, my mom and I decided to come here for a cheap trip. We knew they wouldn't be amazing, but we didn't expect them to be completely inexperienced and incompetent. I got my nails done, simple polish, one color, which I didn't think you could mess up. Alas, the girl who did my nails didn't even manage to bring the polish all the way to the tips of my nails. I literally had normal nail polish - not even gel - on my nails with my tips showing at the end. I should've just done it myself.
Now for my mom's experience. She is a blonde, and asked to go one shade darker with some highlights. THEY DYED IT SUCH A DARK BROWN IT LOOKED BLACK with this horrible blunt cut when she asked for a simple trim. She scheduled an appointment back home the next day to fix it because it was awful. I'm not even trained and I could've cut her hair better than that, too.
The only thing I enjoyed was the facial. Because you can't mess up rubbing someone else's face.

Absolutely horrible experience! I drove my wife to get her haircut and it has taken 5 1/2 hours and she still has not come out yet! Absolutely ridiculous and will not be coming back.

Andi did an incredible job untangling and conditioning my hair! She literally performed a miracle and got rid of my dread. Her and all the other students I interacted with were so kind and really helpful! I loved my experience today!

If you’re looking for an esthetics program, save yourself a lot of disorganization and empty promises and choose another school.

My wife and I went here this morning to get a scalp treatments. The staff were exceptional and very friendly.  We love to the tea tree massage oil and then the shampoo rinse afterwards.  It was a great stop on our road trip.

It's an amazing place all the people there are so nice and they work with you well. I absolutely loved being there ❤

Great job on my hair!

-Did it take long? yes. However, I knew it would so I planned accordingly and was in and out in an hour very satisfied.
-Best cut ever? One of them. I am very very satisfied and have high hopes for future cuts.
-Customer service? Great! Treated well and greeted within seconds of walking in.
-Cheap? YES. 35 dollars for unlimited hair cuts.
-Would I recomend it? Absolutely!

Been there many times. Many are good. However, need more training on using the clippers with 0 length. I have been cut at least 3 times. I went there today. The hairdresser claimed that she's been learning since February this year. When she trimmed the back of my head, I felt like she was poking my head and it hurt badly. I warned her already. And when she trimmed the hair around my right ear, she actually cut me right next to my ear and I was bleeding. The lead came and checked. She's like that was the smallest cut I've ever seen. I didn't know what she's trying to say. It didn't comfort me at all. Poor customer services. They don't know how to handle this situation.

Great teaching salon. Yes, it does take a lot of extra time, but it balances out with the low prices. (Daughter's long hair was cut and highlighted for $45 - 4.5 hours time.) Dulce did great. We felt bad for the hairstylist next to her, who got a severe reprimand from both mother and daughter about grown daughter’s blonde highlights that we thought looked great. (There seemed to be quite a bit of that going on which seemed ridiculous to me. No magic wands at a beauty college.) All the stylists seemed very friendly and working very hard to learn their craft.

Takes a while but have had better cuts and colors here than with experienced professionals honestly

I have gotten my hair cut 3 times one was bad one was good one was great. My only complaint though was their scheduling staff. I was rescheduled for the same appointment 3 times and then the guy who did an amazing job wasn't their anymore. So I called to schedule with anyone for next week. He said "we are only available Tuesday what works best for you." I asked for 10am because I can't do the afternoon. He said "well we only have one spot available at 1:30." Really! Then why did you ask me what time I was available when you only have ONE? And this happens EVERY time I try to schedule an appointment. They need to train people on how to look at a schedule, or not ask misleading questions.

Lesson number one if there is only one spot say that one spot, if there are 2 spots you ask option one or two. If there are 3 spots list them off. Any more you can say morning or afternoon then narrow it down with the options or if there are more you can ask when works best and I can get you a spot close.

The 1 star is because for almost a year my husband has been going here and has NEVER not 1 time come back with a decent hair cut.

For the price of 30 something dollars you can get a mens haircut pass to use as many times as you want for like a year.

My husband goes here maybe 1 time a month or every other month because - BE PREPARED - it will take 3-4 hours for you to get a mens Haircut!

He also NEVER comes back looking good at all after the haircut. It's always uneven and looks awful so he grows it out. He is just finishing up his pass and then we will be going somewhere else.

Also Scheduling your appointment over the phone usually take 10 - 30 mins to get to someone that can help you.

the person who cut my hair would have probably done a good job on somebody else but I think she's only used to doing pretty typical haircuts

This place was amazing! The service was cheap, but you wouldn't guess it by the way you're treated. My stylist, LeeAnn was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. She did a great job, had fun, and made me enjoy the whole experience. Definitely would go again!

Loved it! My hair stylist made sure to know exactly what I wanted and let me put my input through the entire process. One if the best hair cuts I've ever gotten!!!

Crystal is seriously the best!! She is super professional yet very friendly and very sweet. I showed her what I wanted done with my hair and she set up perfect expectations to achieve that look along side the grow out process. I highly recommend her for both men’s and women’s cuts! Very knowledgeable and skilled in this field—5 stars for me ☺️

Got tons of highlights and loved it. They did such a great job. It took some extra time but it was well worth it. Everyone was super nice as well.

This is a nice and cheap place. I have gone here three separate times. The first time I got my hair dyed and it looked good. The second time I had a small trim and had color touchups and It turned out nice also. But the third time I got a full re-dye and trim. I told them I wanted a dark brown. They dyed it black. I also wanted 1/4-1/2 inch off. They cut off 4 inches. Turned out poorly, super unhappy. So basically it just depends on who you get. Ask for a student that knows what they are doing or else they will mess up your hair.

Though it was busy, the staff was friendly to my friend (who is learning hour to cut hair) and myself. The staff (teachers) were really helpful with explaining the process of what my request is, for cutting my hair. For how busy the establishment is, the areas were clean and orderly.

Adrianna is my absolute favorite! I only came in for a quick cut, but she is so enjoyable and made it worth my while.

I just wanna say, incredible. For the amazing price of just $10, I got probably one of the best haircuts I’ve ever received. Not only was it an outstanding cut but the service was legendary and that is all thanks to Adrianna. Wonderful student to say the least. She has a lasting customer that’s for sure.

Jared really made my deep condition quite the experience. Not only was the hair care great but so was the conversation, plus he learned to do his first flat iron curls and killed it!

I just went for a haircut in Rexburg while visiting my children for a week. My stylist, who was a student, was named Racquel. She was very nice and proceeded to give me the most precise and thorough haircut I have ever had. She took the time to make sure it was perfect, so it seemed. I've never had someone spend that much time and concentration on making sure she did it right. I was totally impressed and pleased with the best haircut I feel I have ever had. Go see Racquel, it will be well worth your time.

For the price, this salon is a cut above the rest. The service here is good, the staff are pleasantly friendly. They can accommodate a range of styles, needs, and requests, and their VIP membership of $35 a year for unlimited hair-cuts and discounts on products is simply beyond good value.

Quality haircuts for really cheap! Get a year long VIP membership! Everyone’s always so friendly and kind. I live that they wash your hair each time. They don’t always do the head massage, but that’s fine. I don’t come in for a head massage. I’ve lived my haircuts I’ve gotten here! The instructor won’t let them leave you with a terrible haircut.

I got my hair cut here by a very kind girl named Elvia. The experience was very nice and relaxing. She was very careful with how much she cut off and asked me very kindly if I wanted it shorter. It was very nice.

When I lived in Rexburg I got my haircut at Paul Mitchell for 5+ years. They always did a great job and it was very affordable. Their products are amazing and their staff was always really friendly.

Just don’t go. The school bullied my wife so I would change my review.

Waste of time getting any services done. Takes forever for them to finish. Nearly every stylist I’ve had always says they feel like the school doesn’t care about them as students. What a shame.
