This is the worst school on the planet do not go here

School was short staffed large classes with 3 trucks.. that’s not working properly…. I never took my road test…. I had to re-enroll for the second time. And still couldn’t get the proper training… don’t be fooled your really had to pay under the table to get the proper training….  They stealing student loan

Definitely the best school in town they make sure you get all the financial assistance that is available for you and they are very organized and are very well with focusing on each student individually to make sure they accomplish their education goals

All-State Careers is a great school for CDL trucking.  Great curriculum and instructors are very informative and knowledgeable of their craft. It's been very smooth thus far.

This school will give you everything you need in order to become an employed CDL-A driver.  As a current student, I have noticed many  students are simply not prepared for any type of education or training.  Learning takes a great deal of self motivation.  Many of the students expect the school to be as tolerant as the Baltimore City Public schools, where many students are never required to self direct or perform difficult learning tasks.

As adult students, no one should have to tell tthem to be on time, study or act professionally.  I for one would never have the patience to teach some of the students with whom I have attended class.

As an employer, I would never hire some of these students.  It frightens me to know these people will be behind the wheel of a semi.

The school does need to be more responsive to student needs, such as grade corrections and assisting students with flexibility of schedule.

Students should be made aware of the demands and requirements.  The dropout rate and non-completion rates would be drastically reduced if students understand every detail of the process beforehand.

If you are serious about getting your CDL, All State Career is the place to go.  If you want to just sleep through class, play on your cell phone and act like a high schooler, you'll fail.

Would I do this again with the knowledge I have today.  Oh hell yes.

This school does not do what is advertised. They advertise a complete certification in Class D CDL. Even after completing and passing all classes and exams, the school refuses to apply the proper credentials to the certification, making it completely USELESS. They will take your money and not provide a means to become gainfully employed after completing the course.

While trying to communicate with school personnel concerning my attendance 3 failed attempts and multiple voicemails later still have not heard anything from anyone

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! Worse school experience EVER. Professionalism, Satisfactory, Quality, Communication, Teaching. Let me be real, for people looking to get their CDL, please look somewhere else. I recognize that I failed myself by choosing all state career school.

1. Equipment wise they put you in a junk piece and they have the guts to charge 10 Gran, consider this program a complete rip-off.
2. 6 month period feels like a waste of time...your basically teaching your self.
3. Instructors have no idea what they're doing. They go and stand on the lot to trash talk about tv shows/shoes/cars etc...INSTEAD OF TEACHING; while the new students are struggling on their own trying to get the manuevering correctly.
4. You won't get the time to train enough on a truck because too many students per module, and you have one truck per module. So if your there 5 hrs you'll get 10-15 min on truck daily. The rest of time your just standing on the lot wasting time. AND they won't let you touch other trucks (because your not on that module).
5. They want you to learn all vehicle parts like your graduating from mechanical school; instead of focusing on driving and taking you out on the road.
6. Their program is complete garbage. You basically can compress that six month into a three month period and have cdl on hand at another school program.

I RECOMMEND ATTENDING ANOTHER SCHOOL

Graduated from this school the instructors save my life. My first blow out was a front steer and per the instructor to accelerate instead of braking I lived. I would recommend this institution to anyone. I am now an owner operator and have been driving for 10 yrs +. Thanks All State

This by far has been my worse school experience. I have never seen so many unprofessional and unhappy instructors. There is an instructor name Ricky (older brown skin guy) who should not be working there. He has the worse attitude with no humanity. He talk to people any kind of way. You pay a lot of money for training and you end up teaching yourself. They are more focus on pre tripping the truck than actually driving skills. Driving skills should be the number one importance than you trying to be a mechanic. To past the test for your license they expect for you to be a mechanic and know every detail of the truck. There is one guy who will get you right there and his name is Leven. He will get you through understanding the truck and good driving skills. He is the best on their team who is always joyful and happy to be at work.

Wouldn't recommend medical billing & coding at this school wasn't worth the amount that I will be paying.

First I would like to thank all the instructors who have helped me during my journey.  The reason to why my rating is just a 3stars well here are the pros and cons

Pros:
-Ms D and Lloyd(who's no longer there) are the best instructors I've ever had ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and even more. Heck they deserve a raise bonus anything. Lloyd had me under my skills more and showed me how to shift. Ms. D had me on my pre-trip skills and prepared me for my finish line. She's a tough instructor but you have to understand this career is not a joke and everyone truck drivers and non truck drivers deserve to return home with their loved ones.

-Jon and Dane- the most amazing instructors that have taken me out on the road gave me some good pointers what to look out for and had very good patience even on my worse days (rainy days lol)
I can't thank these instructors enough for everything they have done and put up with.

-Paul and Frank thank you for always putting a smile and helping me with straight line back and offset.

-Mr. Ricky he's one tough examiner but I respect that about him. He means and he's making sure we know our stuff and not be an endangerment to ourselves or to others. Thank you Mr Ricky

Now for the Cons:
For all the money the school gets from students signing up they could at least do a better job on the pavement the lines and the trucks we are operating in.

Their are more potholes on the range than on the streets of DC. Yes it's good exercise for the real world but at the same time it's horrible.

The lines we are suppose to see to know we are in the boxes 🤣😂🤣😂 what a joke you can't see them for anything and if your class is at night even worse. I had to switch from nights to day time.

As for the trucks we practice in..... Well I completely understand why get old trucks when it's going to get damage but student drivers. Ask that question would you give you first time non experience teenager a million dollar car heck no i would give them a junk car first. But when you are in a mod and the truck you need to practice your skill in is down not working or breaks don't work it's annoying.

And the best for last. I have never been in a place or environment where students (grown adults)  are in instructors face yelling making threats and nothing is done. I'm sorry these instructors are not our parents babysitter or friends..... Their job is to instructor us and prepare us for what we paid this school. I have see with my own eyes a student yelling and disrespecting Ms D but the student was able to return back to the range. Like what no I'm sorry that is an endangerment to instructors and students. How can instructors and students feel safe when that's allowed. Smh

School is really unorganized large class one teacher, you get two days of road time. They say they have extra training, you can do before you test in the afternoon but, another class is using those vehicles and you don’t get road time to drive for the evening training, Does that even make sense.

Trainers are good, especially Mr. Dane, but the problem is with the CDL tester, Mr. Ricky. He was highly unprofessional and talked to me any type of way while testing. Saying he should fail me just for grinding one gear. He also used curse words directed toward me while testing. Little did he know, I am a minister, so it was overly disrespectful. I understand not liking your job, but taking it out on students who are already nervous to test was uncalled for. Please find a new more respectful tester. I had to leave this review because I don’t want anyone else to be treated like I was.

I mean I learned what I needed to get my CDL but they don't do much to really get you ready to be a truck driver. They only have 3 instructors that are really good. Miss D,Mr. Dane and Mr.Ray. wish the other instructors cared as much as they do! If you want to just get a CDL than it's the place to go! Trucks are all worn out and the ones on the range that you practice in are basically held together with duct tape. The mechanic is a grumpy old man that acts like you are inconveniencing him if you need him to fix something.

Well organized and structured school with well experienced instructors and personnel. Expensive school but really worth it.

Stuck paying off an $18,000 loan. Initially applied to enter into the medical billing and coding program. Was coerced by admissions office to enter into the pharmacy tech program. Younger, more naive me took the bait because i was promised that the trade would generate "more money" when i graduated. Now i'm finding out the real reason is because the cost of the pharmacy tech program is significantly higher than the billing and coding program, BEWARE!

Terrible terrible school. Feel free to ask questions. Without Mrs. Short the place would fall apart.

P.S. “Officially” graduated and never got my diploma. Also did not ever receive my CPR certification despite doing the training almost 3 times.

This school is a complete sham.before i applied for cdl training. I asked on the phone and in person did i need a cdl permit to attend classes and was told no.i paid the downpayment and started classes.on the first day of class i was told i would not be able to attend because i needed a permit..i was sent to mr parker the head of the school and told i would get a full refund beingbthat it wasn't my fault.....i have been getting the run around EVER SINCE trying to get my refund.....DO NOT..ATTEND THIS SCHOOL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE LIED TO AND SCAMMED!!!!

I know multiple people that go to and have went to this school. This place is only worried about your money. They are dirty, poorly staffed and unprofessional. There are lawsuits against this school because of this. Do not fall for the allstate scam!! Go to ccbc!

Unless you're going there for trucking don't waste your time or your moneytheir teaching staff is horrible it's like high School in there especially some of the teachers and I really hope they got rid of Miss Romero she was the worst of them all she would literally get in on all the drama and act like she was 15 years old like the rest of the young little girls did and she also had favorites and she gave those favorites better scores than the people who actually worked hard the best teacher there is a gentleman who came in I wish I remembered his name but he was an amazing

I went to this school twice my father went to the school twice as well ! Both career paths i have choosen not one person at all state can help find a job but there promise and guarantee is to help find a job ! Before going to all state PLEASE LOOK FARTHER INTO MAKING AN EDUCATION THIS SCHOOL IS HORRIBLE ! Very unorganized

Complete joke of a school. HVAC program used to be the place to be back in the day apparently but it’s a shell of it’s former self. Unless you like incompetent staff, poor building conditions, aggressive enrollment tactics, overworked instructors, and overpriced education, I’d pass on this one.

The Teachers are great. Ms. Dee Mr. Lawrence. Good People. It's just a lot of things I just Don't understand.

best school for CDL. Mr GARY Best teacher, only bad and kind of worst thing in class time is too long. In class only suppose to be 6 weeks, students need more time outside at range on trucks. But still it is best school. Administration suppose to reduce in class time and extend the range time.

oh Allstate, so i went here last year from may 2017 to December 2017. My teachers were Mr Dennis, Mrs short, and Mrs Alexander. So the schooling was good but they do give you all the answers for every test. You just have to remember them to pass which makes a lot of students fail their certifications. Luckily if your like me and study and pay attention you will pass. Extern was good i got hired and currently work at that company. But now they changed a lot of things so my friends were not able to go on extern on time, You now have to do a background and drug screen before extern.

Crooks!! To bad no stars wasn’t a choice.. VA paid most of my tuition and the school pocketed the money and I owe 14 grand in loans

I have been to many trade schools I have worked in HVAC  for 30 years Allstate was the best class I have attended.. I attended Allstate CDL B Class ...Thanks to Sid my instructor Ricky and Diane.. Thank you so much..And.   B.J was awesome

All State would be the best program for CDL training if they cared even a little bit about thier students safety. Even in inclimite weather they expect you to come on time and there Lots aren't even cleaned, walking paths and student parking lots are covered and dangerous... Part of the classroom is outside..... and it puts students in a very unsafe situation but Nobody at All state seems to care because Staff parking lot is clean clear and safe. All State has do better where safety and Safety related issue are concerned.

Worst Equipment, Some of the staff is awesome but some people at the school dont need to be in school. Rip-off for the CDL A program. Equipment picked up from junkyard given to students for training. Range is understaffed for number of students. Too much favoritism going on in school, favorite people get everything done before every one else, even though you might b new in range, but if u are preferred by instructor, u get to go before every1 else.

I just graduated from all state carrer and I really recommended to go to this place they have  great instructors and perfect attitude.

Joining the dental assisting program at All State Career was one of the best decisions i have made. The program focusing on making sure you are prepared for entering the career field of choice.  The staff makes sure you truly understand the curriculum prior to moving on to another topic.

I currently attend All State Career, for the Dental Assistant Expanded Functions Program. Its very rewarding and the staff here is exceptional and they're very passionate about the success of the student body.

This school is a scam. Rapeing hard working people for their money. Giving them a horrible education with complete disregard for the student and the laws in which they are breaking. Total misuse of funds and understaffed per their documents. A student has to keep track of their attendance and grades. Management has no clue that are screwing people and not willing to refund any money. Whether it be to students or loans. Strongarming you. The joke is over. Upon graduation; I had to learn the pharmacy material on my own (I learned the material at home after graduating). I received my pharmacy technician certification on my own (nobody helped me). I studied for months after graduating and had amnesia (it's extremely frustrating and stressful); but I received my certification.

This is AllState Career School SERVICE  (this is what they gave me):
Intruding into my personal business.  Gives BAD service.  Purposely ruining the Student's career.   This School commits FRAUD, Discrimination, Favoritism.   The school takes the student's money and run.   Ignores everything that's going on for the student.  Doesn't HELP the student with Success. This school makes up excuses for BAD BEHAVIOR.   Seems as though the school doesn't know What Customer Service MEANS.

I received an A+ in my Radiology Class. I has the most awesome instructor who explained everything detail for detail and was very hands on. I realize I only have 24 weeks of school and ex-tern left and my life is about to change  forever!! Thank you so much All State!! I am currently a allstate student when I first went to the school to check it out they told me a bunch of crap like its a good school they will work with your schedule I am like great I went for the CSL program A class.So I am in the military so I asked could they work with my schedule they said yes I brought in my drill schedule they would not take it they said make copies OK so I forget to bring it in I comeback from drill and the next weekend they say I am dropped from the program for 30 days they said I missed to many days all I'm saying if they would of picked up a phone and called me it could of got avoided the chairman of the program tells me if I would of given him my drill schedule this could of been avoided I said I tried he wouldn't take it now I'm almost to the end of the program and I've only taken one road trip and he's telling me he wants me to pass the final road trip with only one road trip under my belt because they lost my information. I advise you don't go to this school the guys that were at this school 5 yrs ago I respect your comments but the school has changed a lot.

All state Career School, is pretty cool. I'm currently enrolled as a Expanded Function Dental Assistant. The teacher I have for Radiology is an awesome teacher. Also, like that this school tend to you.  They don't want anyone to fall behind so they push you to continue on... Definitely enjoying my school year here.

This school is amazing. A lot of things were hands on and all the staff and faculty helped me with everything, every single step of the way. I took the dental program, for one year, and it is awesome sauce! Id refer anyone looking to further their education here!!!

I couldn't ask for a better school. The atmosphere is great. The majority of the teachers actually want you to do well and will help you if you put in the effort. Plus, Baltimore is an amazing city. So much to do and so many great people.

I am going to school to recieve my CMA. I really appriciate teachers and staff at the school. They are very helpful and willing to go out of their way to assist you.  Any time I have had a concern it was addressed and made right. The classes are enought to digest in the amount of time given easily.

One of the CDL instructors for this school was asked if it was ok for my friend to park there for the night , and was told it was okay,  but it was not okay $1600.00 tow bill next morning... African American instructor..poor excuse for a driver let alone a instructor

I am a student attending North American Trade School in Baltimore, MD. I began my studies on August 14, 2023, and my expected graduation date is October 24, 2023. Throughout my time at the school, I have gained extensive knowledge about commercial driving and the laws and regulations surrounding being a commercial driver or owner-operator. I thank my instructors (Mr. Werner, Mr. Yancey, Ms. Kay, Mr. Jeff, Mr. Vernon, and Mr. Tango) for their valuable contributions and training. While the school provides fundamental skills such as clutch control, straight-line backing, and offset backing, I will gain proficiency through my first employer. I am excited about the opportunities in the trucking industry and hope to make my instructors, parents, and husband proud.

Through Christ who strengthens me, I will obtain my Commercial Drivers License. Amen.

Not a Good School after all, was attending CDL B, program which I had to come out of pocket and pay for, was only able to attend for two days, Family emergency presented it self, Had to come out the class. Spoke to several people who all gave me the run around about rejoining the class or partial refund of my money. No answers just spoke to several people who kept pushing it on other people who supposedly are never their, called several times, went up to the school myself, everyone smiled in my face but as always no response...I guess they just going to take my 2,200.00 and tell me have a nice day, professionalism goes a long way and this is truly unacceptable, I don't have any grants to help, just my hard earned cash that I paid in full.
Still waiting to be lied to or pushed off on somebody else any day now...

I've been in NATS since Feb weekend class. And Ricky M our instructor is the best. He can relate to his students. He makes the class worth coming to. The process he teaches in is worth the struggle. He is respectful but demanding. Once this class 223w is on the range, we are going to kill it. He deserves a raise $$$$$. Your done son.👍👍

I have not been able to contact the school for 2 months, there is no response to the email. I filled out a form on the website, there is also no answer. I am a citizen of another country and I need to apply for a visa and have a question about this. But it seems that the school does not appreciate students who want to enroll

Today I was able to pass my CDL road test on the 1st try. I must say I had very knowledgeable instructors who made the experience worth every dollar on the investment. SHOUT OUT TO BIG BEN (Mr Ben), Dana, Alex, Tay, Dwayne, Terence & Ms Kay. And I can't forget about Mr Al. My advice to all is to stay focus on your goal (not your get out & look) and maximize on your daily contributions to obtain your CDL. For those who would prefer automatic, I would highly recommend to not give up on the manual because it's challenging. This school has more manual options available which will be more challenging for those who prefer automatic.  Put in your work while here & get in & get out .

I just passed my CDL final test today and I am immensely thankful to Steve, Jeff, Marie, Fox and Terrence. I am thankful to Mr. Al for his ingenious classroom instruction. He always keeps the class interesting, in addition to sharing his over 50 years of truck driving experience. Great school, great school, great school. I can't stress this enough. Big bang for your buck. If you have "shiftophobia" (my coinage for fear of shifting gears), Jeff and Steve will get you straight like a ruler. Trust me, if I could get over it, you will. I strongly recommend North American Trade Schools in Baltimore, Maryland.

I’m currently here for night school for diesel mechanic and it a complete waste of time and money. Everything I’ve learned about diesel mechanic, from a book, and the days are prolonged. I could’ve been virtual learning for all of that if they offered it. I can count on my hand how many times I exactly been in the shop hands on working on anything Diesel mechanic. They have all these truck in the shop but when we do go in the shop we only work on one. It’s hard to see or learn anything when there’s 20 people huddled around one truck. Many people have quit because of this, and talk to the instructors about it, but nothing has changed. I’ve been sticking out try to see if I’m going to get my $18,000 worth but haven’t yet. I hope this helps someone else out when you read this. DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL FOR DIESEL MECHANIC YOU’LL BE WASTING YOUR TIME AND YOU MONEY.

I have graduated from North America trade school in 2015 for their HVAC program before I graduated I was working at Johnson Controls now that I work at Johnson Controls full time because I was going to school at night it was a great experience now, I am a  journeyman mechanic and also have my own business on the side

I came to this school to get my class A CDL. My instructors were some of the best teachers I've ever had. Shout out to: Mr.Fullwood, Mr. Lee and Mr. Pete! Definitely gave me the preparation I needed to get into a new career field, Diesel Mechanics. if I had any issue it would be that they may need to spend some more money on tools, there were instances when specialty tools were needed to do specific jobs and we just didn't have the right tool. other than that, in my opinion, maybe they need to up the tuition in order to equip the students with a basic toolbox and tool setup upon completion. I had to spend a bit of money on tools to equip me for the workforce, but not everybody has the ability to do that, so maybe if it was included in tuition, they students would be better prepared, tool wise, upon graduation.

I would like to thank North American Trade School for their help. After being refused by other places to help my grandson with a flat tire, I went to North American School, explained my situation and Mr P said he would be happy to help. My grandson drove his truck with a flat tire around the mall to the school. When we reached the school the gentlemen were waiting as s group to assist and changed my grandson tire within minutes. I thank God for the help from the school. I pray that God continues to bless the school.

I’ve been in the evening diesel program 6 months now and I’m enjoying my training. There are well qualified instructors that give you a real world aspect of the field and not try to sell you a dream.

The school is bias to the religion of Islam releasing one of its students because of it and forces another to stop coming because she felt singled out. There is a big lack on hands on experience and the tools are completely outdated! Will not recommend this school to anyone of faith or anyone that wants to succeed in the world as a master technician!

I just want to let NATS know that after only one year I have been offered a promotion at Fleet Pro to move into a foreman position. I am thankful for Mr. Pontzer's foot up my !@#$ it got me ready for the real world!

the program is very informative, the work load is heavy but everything strings together. you learning fast pace but your picking up just as fast. The program is structured but at the same time your able to ask to learn different things and Mr. knight will go out of his way to make sure he can accommodate. You get what you put in.

Love the program, the hands on training is beautiful. Coming from a different career background the information is starting to stick. Mr. Knight and Mr. Kimmie makes the whole experience enjoyable

I am currently enrolled in the electrician program here at North American Trade School. The learning experience here is very rewarding. I’ve only been enrolled for 3 weeks and I am very confident with what I’ve learned so far.

I am Clinton Hyde. I began at north American trade schools 3 years ago as a dedicated diesel tech. I found that the instructors were all very good with the class room environment as well as in the shop. I was very happy with the education.  I was approached by my instructor Mr. Pontzer and he sat me down and said that with my 7 years in the field and grades I received in my classes he asked if I would become a teachers aid. I said yes to his proposal and began working for NATS one year ago in June.
I have now become a full Diesel Technology Instructor and love my job.
I enjoy giving dedicated young men and women the knowledge that I received through my 7 years as a tech in the field and with my formal in school training I received here at NATS. I enjoy giving my students the guidance and tricks of the trade that I have and helping them to become confident in them selves as techs in the field that way they receive the highest pay they can receive upon graduating from our school.

I was a previous student that graduated in Aprilof 2018. The teachers here are awesome as long as you attend and are here on time. I always had a love for driving a tractor trailer. So I enrolled in the CDL program at the Security Boulevard location and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. Why? First I found all the staff members to be very professional and helpful. And the CDL instructors are just amazing!!! I attended North American Trade school for the welding program. I had already known how to weld from being in the military, but I still needed the AWS certifications that NATS provides. I was thoroughly impressed by the instructors, especially Mr Burgett the lead weld instructor. He always went above and beyond to make sure everyone learned and was confident in the skills they were developing. I have almost 10 years in the industry now and I still believe the welding program staff at NATS are among the best welders I've met in my career

North American Trade School was a great experience for me I learned a lot the teachers are great I got a lot of training with tools and various HVAC components. The career services lady is outstanding I’ve never meet a lady like Mrs.Lisa I honestly don’t know another person that will hunt you down to find you a job. The school is great I highly recommend it to anybody looking to find a new trade.

For all listening, please do not waste your time at this school if contemplating enrolling in diesel program. professors simply do not care to teach, let alone show up for class; furthermore, there is plenty of drug use all over the school. on top of it almost all of the teaching equipment is from the 90's. I can guarentee you will be more satisfied at any other institution.

The drivers education class i took with Ms. Khan was absolutely great and I was able to score maximum points with no great effort. Information came clear, everything well explained, the most important things were always highlighted, we always had reviews after each unit and a comprehensive general review at the end. The rules of the classroom were always followed with Ms Khan and I loved that. If you want to learn and be sure to pass, take the morning class!
